John's New Jersey
Due to popular demand, here are some pictures of my project: The Tamiya
1:350 Modern New Jersey.

I have made a lot of work for myself by trying to correct what I see are
flaws in the kit. These are some of the changes made or planned:
I am dispensing with the kit deck altogether. The problems at the bow
with the molded on anchor chain and chain plates as well as the problems with the stern
with the flat deck have caused me to take this drastic step,
I am filling the entire hull with resin for sturdiness.
Replacing the kit propeller shafts with brass rod.
Replacing the kit propellers with bronze ones.
Moving the rudders to their correct locations.
Adding the stern doors for towed decoys.
Creating the helipad and ramps leading to it out out brass.
Real wood planking for the deck.
Tubing for the anchor chain at the hawse pipes and the pipes leading to
the chain locker as well as real chain.
Discone antenna out of brass rod.
Others as I come to them.
